National Night Out

PHVFD&RS, August 03

Potomac Heights VFD&RS members had a great time last night attending community National Night Out celebrations. Engine 72, Ambulance 78, and EMS Utility EMS-7 began the night in Potomac Heights at the community center. Later in the evening, all three joined Squad 7 at the Hunters Brook community center. No Caption Tanker and Engine Drill

PHVFD&RS, July 01

Last night at drill, Potomac Heights VFD&RS members practiced Tanker and Engine operations simulating a working fire in a location with no hydrant. Tanker 7 dumped water into its folding frame tank and Engine 73 drafted that water to use for its hoses and deck gun. Congratulations to Potomac Heights VFD&RS Firefighter/EMT, Abigail Brown. Abby was a Senior this year in the Charles County Cadet program. At the awards banquet last night she won awards for the following: Highest class GPA for EMT class, 2nd Highest GPA for Hazmat, Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 classes, Highest Combined Cadet Class GPA, and the Justin "J-Ride" Hutchinson Memorial Scholarship Award ... Washington D.C. FD 150th Anniversary Parade

PHVFD&RS, May 14

Potomac Heights VFD&RS Engine 72, manned by a crew of 3 members who are current or retired Washington D.C. Firefighters, participated today in the Washington D.C. Fire Department's 150th Anniversary Parade down Constitution Avenue and was on display at the muster held afterwards. Engine 72 won a Special Judges Award for its appearance in the parade.
