Potomac Heights VFD&RS sends its deepest condolences to Life Members Steve and Mark Winkler, Stephanie Winkler, and the rest of the Winkler family on the loss of Potomac Heights VFD&RS Auxiliary Life Member and Past President and Southern Maryland Ladies Auxiliary Past President, Sharron Winkler. Sharron passed away on January 19, 2023. Sharron joined the Auxiliary on September 13, 1983. During her dedicated years of service, she held multiple elected offices. Sharron was the Auxiliary Chaplin in 1984, Treasurer from 1986 through 1989, President from 1994 through 1998, Vice President 2017 and President 2018 through 2019. Sharron became a Life Member of the Auxiliary in 1993. Sharron received the Mae Campbell Outstanding Member Award in 1985 and 2012. During Sharron’s many years with the PHVFD & RS Inc. Auxiliary, she chaired, co-chaired, worked and supported multiple functions.

Sharron was also a member of the Southern Maryland Ladies Auxiliary serving as a Past Sr. Color Bearer and Past Vice-Chaplin. Sharron held the office of President 1988 – 1989, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993. She was also a member of multiple committees for the Southern Maryland Ladies Auxiliary.

Viewing on Tuesday, January 24th at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall from 2:00PM - 4:00PM and from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. A prayer service will begin at 7:00PM.

Burial will be a private ceremony for family only.

In lieu of flowers, the Winkler family has asked that donations be made to Hospice of Charles County.
