Last night for drill, Potomac Heights VFD&RS members conducted a walk through of General Smallwood Middle School in our first due. This allowed us to familiarize ourselves with key details that will assist us if we ever have to respond to an emergency at the school. Members took note of the overall layout of the school, ingress and egress locations, elevator controls, roof access, sprinkler system operations, and gas/oil turn-off valves for the kitchen and heating and air conditioning systems. Thank you to Vice Principle, Brad Williams, and the building maintenance staff for taking the time to show us around the building and answer questions.
